Chris Cornell: l’ultimo brano inciso è una cover di Johnny Cash

Ci ha lasciati da più di 9 mesi Chris Cornell ma la sua voce continua a farci compagnia con i suoi numerosi brani, ormai un vero e proprio testamento per tutti i suoi fan. Alle pregevoli produzioni discografiche si aggiunge da ieri un nuovo brano, “You Never Really Knew My Mind“, che farà parte di un album in omaggio a Johnny Cash.
Il 6 aprile prossimo infatti uscirà “Johnny Cash: Forever Words“, che contiene poesie, testi e lettere scritte da Cash e messe in musica da una serie di artisti che vanno da Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson con Kris Kristofferson, John Mellencamp, Jewel. Il disco è stato prodotto da John Carter Cash, figlio di Johnny, e contiene anche il brano messo in musica e cantato dal compianto Chris Cornell.

Registrato nello studio Cash Cabin, il brano rappresenta una delle ultime testimonianze musicali dell’ex frontman dei Soundgarden, scomparso lo scorso 18 maggio.
In una delle sue ultime interviste, Chris aveva dichiarato:

“Ho incontrato Cash una o due volte in vita mia, ed era così cortese: ha influenzato molto la mia musica”.
